As I am writing this, it’s my 21st birthday, so I thought this topic was especially fitting for today. I’m gonna keep this one short and sweet because it’s really just as simple as the title; nothing beats an intangible gift. A person’s love is intangible, kind words are intangible, being thoughtful is intangible. All of these things cannot be touched, but instead felt, and that’s what makes them so special and powerful. Gifts in general aren’t about receiving, but rather the act of giving. This year I am thankful for the gift of my health, my human connections — being able to live another year with the best people surrounding me as a healthy and happy young woman. These gifts don’t just come on a birthday, I am gifted with my health, happiness, and wellbeing every single day, and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. Take this as a reminder to appreciate the gifts we encounter everyday, like our ability to walk and breath and see and hear and think. Appreciate waking up early for the sunrise. Be thankful that your body allows you to workout. And above all, express gratitude for everything, from the tiniest wins to the biggest gifts of all. The ultimate gift is knowing that day in and day out, you are so beyond blessed with the simplest, most rewarding gifts that this world has to offer. Recognize the little things, the intangible things, because that’s all you really need.
xx,
Kay
